Project Overview
deBridge is a DeFi infrastructure protocol that enables seamless cross-chain movement of assets and information without relying on traditional liquidity pools. At its core, the protocol utilizes a network of independent validators, elected through governance, who operate deBridge nodes to verify and sign cross-chain transactions across multiple supported blockchains. Security is maintained through delegated staking and slashing mechanisms, which create economic disincentives for validator misconduct.
The protocol serves as a comprehensive framework for various cross-chain operations, including asset transfers, smart contract interoperability, NFT bridging, and cross-chain swaps. Projects can integrate with deBridge to expand their reach across different blockchain ecosystems, build custom bridges, enable global accessibility, and develop new cross-chain applications. Started in April 2021 during the Chainlink Global Hackathon (where it won the Grand Prize), deBridge is designed to be governed by a DAO, allowing token holders to participate in protocol decisions and treasury management.
