Project Overview

Monad is an Ethereum-compatible Layer 1 blockchain that combines the best aspects of portability and performance. It maintains full compatibility with Ethereum's Virtual Machine (EVM) and RPC, meaning existing Ethereum applications and infrastructure can be used on Monad without any code modifications. Users can continue using familiar tools like MetaMask wallets and Etherscan for blockchain exploration.

What sets Monad apart is its exceptional performance capabilities, achieved through innovative features like parallel execution and superscalar pipelining. The platform can handle 10,000 transactions per second (equating to 1 billion transactions daily) with 1-second block times and finality. These improvements are implemented through several key components including MonadBFT consensus, Deferred Execution, Parallel Execution, and MonadDb state backend. This high-performance architecture aims to solve the current scalability limitations of blockchain networks, making decentralized applications more viable for mass adoption.
