Project Overview

Zora is a decentralized protocol that focuses on creating, curating, and trading NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) through a permissionless platform. It stands out for its unique approach to NFT infrastructure, offering a universal creator registry, an NFT marketplace protocol, and most notably, its own L2 (Layer 2) network built on OP Stack, which provides faster and cheaper transactions compared to Ethereum mainnet while maintaining security.

The project has gained significant attention for its creator-first approach, offering zero-fee minting, instant settlement, and tools for creators to easily deploy their own custom marketplaces. Zora's L2 network allows creators to mint and trade NFTs with minimal gas fees, and the platform supports various features including auction mechanisms, fixed-price sales, and the ability for creators to earn royalties on secondary sales. The protocol is designed to be completely decentralized and permission-less, allowing anyone to build applications on top of its infrastructure, which has made it popular among artists, developers, and collectors in the Web3 ecosystem.
